Operations Manager – Ashburton

As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to join our team to oversee our Ashburton operation.

 

Position:

We are looking for a professional, pro-active person who can provide both operational and team leadership qualities through strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage the Ashburton division.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a thorough understanding of both customer service and workshop operations. You will be responsible for overseeing technician’s workload, productivity and efficiency, whilst providing outstanding communication between all parties.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and guidance to service technicians and support staff.

Ensure efficient workflow and productivity within the service department.

Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.

Develop and implement strategies to increase service department profitability.

Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our service departments.

Lead and oversee the day to day operations of our manufacturing department.

Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize service delivery and enhance the customer experience.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service processes.

Manage and mentor a team of service professionals, promoting a positive and high-performance work environment.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and key stakeholders.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess service performance and make data-driven decisions.

 

 

Skills/Experience:

Strong understanding of the Automotive service industry processes and best practices would be preferred but full training will be offered to the right person.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to drive results.

Experience in technical and aftersales staff management.

Be both customer and business focused to ensure a strong emphasis is placed on quality and service.

Extensive knowledge of automotive systems with the ability to train and develop others.

Manage and review ongoing key performance indicators.

Ability to maintain and interpret month end reporting.

Strong coping skills to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Manage Health and Safety across the workshops/manufacturing

  • Air conditioning servicing and repairs 

  • Computer diagnostic interpretation and repair on various brands of vehicles  

  • Installation of GPS tracking devices  

  • Comply to Health and Safety standards  

  • Work with fellow work mates and clients 

 

A National Certificate in Automotive Electrical Engineering – NZ based qualification is preferred
